My "Guidebook"

I love retro. I especially love the 1940s and 1950s. I love the clothes. I want to FIT into those clothes.

Which brings me to this blog's purpose.

Emily at Humble Labor featured a book in her Etsy shop. It was from 1958. When I saw the book, an idea was born. I know HOW to diet. I know WHAT I should eat. I have so much knowledge in this area, it's staggering.

Yet, I'm still overweight. Why? For me, a lack of "fun." When I think about having to cut back and eat foods I don't want to eat and NOT eat foods I do want to eat, well, I admit to a little bit of whining. Deprivation is just not fun.

Well, maybe I can MAKE it fun! Hence this blog.

If I am successful I will post "before" pictures. But since the "before" is actually "right now," I will hold off on splashing my image around!

I am so excited about following along with you on this project! So much fun!

And I have to say, too, since I've been following your blogs...I'm so impressed by how much you accomplish! Very inspiring, though I'm not sure how you do it all.

Thanks for everything. And best of luck in your new endeavor!

Oh! Don't be too impressed! It's because of doing the blogs that I'm even getting this much done LOL! It's such a motivator for me because I have a visual record of progress, a creative outlet that makes the project more interesting, and accountability because others are reading about it!

I'm very excited about the potential with this. I know I can lose weight by limiting calories and exercising. This is just a much more interesting way to do it.

Thanks again for making this available to me!

This is so exciting! I'm doing a blog on trying to accomplish something, too, so blogging about it is a great motivator. AND I've been on a diet for like a YEAR so I can fit into all my 50's clothes. So I LOVE the idea of this blog and am so happy that I've found it, and that I can follow your adventures! :)

Sparkleneely--Welcome aboard!

I will try to do my very best for myself, my husband, my child...and my blog friends!

I will need lots of encouragement. Are you up for the ups and downs of reading about my journey? LOL!

Oh what a great idea. I've often wondered these things myself. I will follow along with you eagerly!

Thanks for joining me as I give this retro diet thingy a try! When I am faithful about it, I see pounds go away. (Of course, when I'm NOT faithful, those babies come right back!)
