Here is the short list of terms used in this book that just don't occur as often now, especially when speaking of weight gain issues:

• reducing
• surplus poundage
• weight control
• slim
• sparingly
• burden of fat
• corpulence

It feels so much more genteel to use a diet book from another era. It feels like an adventure. Hey, if that works to motivate me, then I'm all for it!
