I must say that the Budget Fare menu doesn't mess around. There are no little extras here, nosireebob!
Breakfast: The usual items but with tomato juice instead of OJ. I think OJ works better.
Luncheon: Sandwich? Good. Celery sticks, carrot sticks, and apple? Good. A bouillon cube in a cup of hot water? Yuck. I poured it down the drain. I'm not sure what the point was since it was made with one of the bouillon cubes! Negative nutrition in that one.
Dinner: I was frightened. It called for frankfurters again. I decided that I would go with the Hebrew Nat'l. beef franks after someone recommended it. I looked it up and liked what I saw. And they were GOOD!
The sauerkraut was OK. I got the store brand and should have gone to the health food store to get the really good stuff. The store brand was more tart. I decided against caraway seeds since we don't like them and a tiny jar cost $5.
The Grapefruit and Green Pepper Salad was a HIT with my son. It was actually pretty good. It made a nice presentation and then I chopped it all up so it could be eaten together. I would prefer the ratio to be more salad than grapefruit, though.
Grapefruit and Green Pepper Salad
1/2 cup grapefruit sections
2 strips, 1/2" green pepper
Shredded lettuce
Arrange the grapefruit on shredded lettuce. Garnish with the green pepper strips.

I'm so glad you liked the Hebrew National hot dogs. After what happened last time, I was kind of nervous for you *smile*
