I decided to type it in and added "retro image" to it. Guess what I found out? PEPSI IS SLIMMING!!
Yes, yes it is! These ads are from the 1950s, no less, so it MUST be true. I wonder why Ida Jean and Mildred didn't mention it? It seems remiss of them.

That's funny - considering all the bad PR for soda today! Radio ads for Pepsi in the '30s and '40s played up its nutritional value. Apparently there's some sort of fruit essence in the original recipe and that was enough to sell it as a nutritious pick-me-up.
