4/19 Weigh-in and a BIG Motivation on the horizon

I am so loving this digital scale. Those tenths of a pound are fun to see. According to this wonderful scale, I am 6/10s of a pound DOWN. Woo hoo!

I'm going to pick up on the exercise this week and see if I can actually move BEYOND tenths to ACTUAL pounds. That would be nice.

In fact, I'd better get those pounds coming off just a little faster than that. One of those "life motivators" is staring me in the face.

August 3rd will be our 25th wedding anniversary. We are not outgoing people. We like to keep things low-key and pretty private. Much to my surprise (and chagrin), our pastor started talking to us from the pulpit during announcement time about this special event. THEN he announced that the church was going to give us a party. My smile froze.

You know what went through my mind? PICTURES. They will insist on taking PICTURES at this party. I just can't be the weight I am for those pictures!

I have exactly FIFTEEN weeks. If I can lose a pound a week, I'll be down to 173. If I step up the exercise, I might be able to make that 1 1/2 pounds a week. That would bring it down to 165.

CAN I DO IT???

I had my son make a sign that says, "August 3." I put it on the refrigerator.

CAN I DO THIS???

(Why, oh why didn't we get married in December?)

This micht well be God's little way of kicking you in the seat of the pants. haha I know EXACTLY how you feel. I didn't bother going to my 20th class reunion last year, and how much I weigh was a factor. I will keep it in prayer that you will find the key to helping you have continious and steady weight loss to the point that you feel comfortable when the time comes for your anniversary. BTW - Happy early Anniversary! That is wonderful. Be proud. In a world filled with divorces, it is so nice to see couples who have stuck it out.

Good luck! I will be pulling for you. Real life motivators can work wonders for weight loss progress. Visualize how you want to look & feel on that day and use that as an anchor every time you make a food choice. You CAN DO THIS!!!!

Sometimes I think G*d has a really wicked sense of humor that he uses to move us to action.

You can do this! We're all with you!

What a lovely picture! It's nice to "see" you and your hubby. :)

Tessa--Thank you for your continued encouragement!

Lorie B--You know it! All the other little kicks didn't motivate me enough. This one will! Thank you for the early anniversary wishes. I can't believe it's been 25 years. We DON'T feel a day over 30 and it's hard to believe a quarter of a century (gasp!) has already gone by.

Mimi--You are also a wonderful encourager. Thank you! I am very excited about the thought of being able to wear something that looks flattering instead of tent-like...

Trixie--Thank you. It is a milestone, isn't it? The time is flying way too fast.

Dr. Julie-Ann--It is really fun and comforting to have all of you with me in this. I really do appreciate the comraderie. And the understanding!

I'm glad He uses whatever He needs to to get our attention and also provides support and encouragement.

Averyl--Yep. It was the pictures that did me in. I HATE having my picture taking. I never think I look like what I really do because I remember the real me inside.

Don't we look YOUNG in that picture?? We were all of 21yo. We'd been together since we were 16yo. I guess I'll keep him.
