My planned menu was:
Savory Meat Loaf, Panned Summer Squash, Melon and Pear Salad, Baked Custard
Somehow I will work that in because I was really looking forward to trying these recipes!

Planning is SO key to this. I don't think women in the 50s ran around as much as we do. For one, they had only one car. The meetings were not very far away and the fast food places were not available. They DID have TV dinners, but I remember them in the early 70s and they were NOT good.
I need a contingency plan for this middle of the week situation that comes up twice a month.
Did I mention that planning is KEY?

A mixed up schedule is a constant problem for me too. Unfortunately, my contingency plan is grilled peanut butter sandwich. I've had WAY too much of those lately! My mother always told me to plan and prep a week's worth of meals on the weekend. That never seems to work out though! :)

I haven't quite gotten my mind around it yet, but I am fully aware that it's probably the answer to our modern-day scheduling situations.
